Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our China Tech Immersion programmes and Tech Scouting & Partnerships framework.

What is the difference between China Tech Immersion and Tech Scouting & Partnerships?

China Tech Immersion provides one-week themed executive delegations to regional innovation clusters (such as Frontier AI in the Capital Region, Physical AI in the Yangtze Delta, or Advanced Manufacturing in Zhejiang). Tech Scouting & Partnerships is a bespoke, project-based service that follows a three-stage framework (Discover, Engage, Advance) focused on scoping requirements, shortlisting vetted Chinese technology partners, validating capabilities, and supporting project deployment.

Can we engage Tech Scouting & Partnerships remotely without travelling to China?

Yes. The Discover (Scout & Assess) and Engage (Connect & Validate) stages are regularly delivered remotely. Our local teams in Singapore and across China conduct market scouting, vendor qualification, and bilingual facilitated meetings via secure video conferencing. You only travel if in-person factory audits, prototype testing, or pilot commissioning are required.

Who typically joins a China Tech Immersion delegation?

Participants include C-suite executives, heads of corporate innovation, technology procurement leaders, venture investors, and trade delegations looking for direct, executive-level access to China's leading technology enterprises, gigafactories, and research institutions rather than conventional tourist visits.

Which regions and technology sectors do the six itineraries cover?

We cover six dedicated regional ecosystems: 1) Capital Region (Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Xiong'an — Frontier AI & Future Cities); 2) Yangtze Delta (Shanghai, Wuxi/Suzhou, Nanjing — Physical AI & Enabling Technologies); 3) Southwest (Chengdu, Mianyang, Chongqing — AI Compute & New Energy); 4) Zhejiang (Hangzhou, Ningbo, Jinhua — Hidden Global Supply Chain Specialists); 5) Yellow Sea Coast (Yantai, Weihai, Qingdao — Smart Industry & Infrastructure); 6) Northeast (Shenyang, Changchun, Harbin — Precision Engineering & Future Mobility).

Can Transfong design a custom or private delegation for our organisation?

Yes. Alongside scheduled cohort departures, Transfong regularly develops private, confidential immersion programmes tailored to specific corporate roadmaps, bespoke technology sectors, target company lists, and executive timing.

What deliverables do we receive in each stage of Tech Scouting & Partnerships?

In Stage 1 (Discover), you receive a Requirements Brief, Assessed Partner Shortlist, and Opportunity Assessment. In Stage 2 (Engage), you receive Qualified Partner Profiles, Facilitated Technical & Commercial Meeting Minutes, and a Partnership Action Plan. In Stage 3 (Advance), we provide Implementation Roadmaps, Cross-Border Project Execution Coordination, and Milestone Reviews.

How independent is Transfong's ecosystem access and technology validation?

Transfong operates as an independent cross-border accelerator headquartered in Singapore with on-the-ground teams across six Chinese innovation cities. Supported by the China Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA), Ministry of Commerce, China, and international trade associations, we provide objective, vendor-neutral advisory focused strictly on our clients' commercial and technical interests.
